Venues and coordinators

What’s the difference between a venue coordinator and a wedding coordinator?

Your venue coordinator works for the venue. They manage the space, tables and chairs, catering service, and venue rules. Your wedding coordinator works for you. I manage your vendors, timeline, ceremony cues, personal decor, wedding party, and any surprises, so you and your family never have to.

The two roles work hand in hand, and I partner closely with your venue team from the walkthrough through the last dance.

My venue requires a day-of coordinator. Do you qualify?

Yes. Many Southern California venues require an outside coordinator, and I meet the standard requirements. I carry my own certificate of insurance, collect your vendors’ COIs ahead of time, and submit everything to your event director.

I’ll attend your venue walkthrough and share your production memo with the venue team before the wedding. If your venue has a preferred or approved coordinator list, send it my way and I’ll confirm I’m a fit.

My venue says I don’t need a coordinator. Do I still need one?

Venue coordinators are a wonderful resource, but their focus is the venue. Who’s cueing your processional, setting your personal decor, keeping your vendors on schedule, and fixing the little things before you notice? That’s my job.

As one of my brides shared, her all-inclusive venue missed details I was able to catch ahead of time.

Booking and pricing

How much does a day-of coordinator cost in Orange County?

In Orange County and Los Angeles, 8-hour day-of coordination with an assistant typically ranges from $1,500 to $2,500. Our Last-Minute Bliss package starts at $1,200. The Intimate package is $1,200 for weddings up to 50 guests at one venue, and the Signature package starts at $1,500 for larger weddings or two locations and includes a wedding assistant. Both include final-month support, four planning meetings, your venue walkthrough, rehearsal, a full production memo, and up to 8 hours of wedding-day management.

How far in advance should we book?

As soon as you have your date and venue. Popular dates book 9 to 12 months out, especially spring and fall Saturdays. You can reserve anytime, and our work together begins 8 weeks before your wedding.

How do I reserve my date?

A 10% nonrefundable retainer reserves your date. The remaining balance is due 7 days before your wedding. I’m happy to work with you on a schedule that fits.

Your wedding day

What happens during the 8 hours?

Your coverage is up to 8 consecutive hours, and every minute is focused on making sure your day runs smoothly so you can stay present. Here’s what that looks like:

  • Greeting vendors as they arrive and confirming setup is on track
  • Setting your personal decor and details
  • Checking in with you throughout the day so you’re cared for, hydrated, and on schedule
  • Lining up your wedding party and cueing the processional
  • Gathering family for portraits so your photographer stays on time
  • Working hand in hand with your DJ and emcee on announcements, entrances, and key moments
  • Cueing each moment of your timeline, from your grand entrance and toasts to first dances and cake cutting
  • Keeping vendors on schedule and adjusting the timeline when things shift
  • Solving problems behind the scenes before you or your guests ever notice
  • Answering guest questions so they don’t come to you
  • Handing out final vendor payments and gratuities you’ve prepared
  • Securing your cards, gifts, and personal items
  • Organizing your grand exit and packing up your decor at the end of the night

We’ll set your exact start time together when we build your timeline. Additional time is $100 per hour for Melissa, or $150 per hour with an assistant.

Do you bring an assistant?

It depends on your wedding. For smaller, simpler celebrations, I coordinate on my own. For larger guest counts, multiple locations, or tighter setup windows, I bring one or more trained assistants so every detail is covered.

We’ll decide together during your consultation, and your quote will reflect what your day needs. For Wedding Day Setup in Orange County, it’s $495 for Melissa alone or $695 with an assistant. In Los Angeles, setup is $895 and includes an assistant.

Do you coordinate the rehearsal?

Yes. I lead your rehearsal so your wedding party, officiant, and family know exactly where to stand, when to walk, and what to expect.

Do you handle setup and breakdown?

Yes. I set your personal decor and details (with an assistant when your wedding calls for one), and at the end of the night we pack them up so your family can head home without the stress.

What’s the difference between Wedding Day Setup and Last-Minute Bliss?

Wedding Day Setup is 4 hours of decor and detail setup only, with no timeline or vendor management, and is available in Orange County and Los Angeles. Last-Minute Bliss is complete final-month and day-of coordination (8 hours), including vendor communication, your walkthrough, rehearsal, timeline creation, and full wedding-day execution, and is available in Orange County, Los Angeles, Ventura County, and San Diego County.

If you need timeline, ceremony, and vendor management, Last-Minute Bliss is the right fit.

Are you insured?

Yes. I carry my own certificate of insurance and collect COIs from your vendors ahead of time to submit to your venue.

What if you’re sick on my wedding day?

I have trained wedding partners who have worked alongside me and can step in, with your full production memo in hand, so nothing is missed.

Planning together

How often will we meet?

Your package includes four one-hour planning meetings: a Checklist Meeting, Timeline Consultation, Venue Walkthrough, and Final Review. Between meetings, you’ll have unlimited emails, calls, and texts so you’re never left guessing.

What do you need from us?

Your vendor contacts and contracts, your guest count, seating chart, and any decor or details you’re bringing. I’ll send you a simple checklist so you know exactly what to gather and when.

Do you work with DIY weddings and smaller budgets?

Absolutely. Many of my couples planned most of the wedding themselves. Last-Minute Bliss is designed for you to hand off the final stretch and actually enjoy your day.

Do you coordinate church and cultural ceremonies?

Yes. I’ve coordinated church ceremonies and cultural traditions and will work with your officiant, church, and family to honor every part of your day.

Do you travel outside Orange County?

I serve Orange County, Los Angeles, Ventura County, and San Diego County. Wedding Day Setup is available in Orange County and Los Angeles, and Last-Minute Bliss coordination is available in all four counties. Ventura County and San Diego County weddings include a $450 travel fee covering mileage and an overnight stay for your rehearsal. An additional $150 applies when an assistant is on site. For couples anywhere else, my virtual services are available nationwide.

Can you recommend vendors?

Yes. I have trusted vendor relationships across Southern California and am happy to share recommendations for anything you still need to book.
